Greetings in the Name of the Lord.
I'm writing to update you all regarding our parish's current COVID policies.
Today, February 10th, 2021, the officers of our parish COVID Response Committee met.
We discussed the recent Supreme Court decision which prohibited the State of California from enforcing its ban on indoor worship in “purple” tier counties (which Ventura County is currently still in). In short, our churches may open to in-person worship with up to 25% capacity, provided the proper procedures and protocols are in place.
After prayerful consideration and discussion, the COVID Committee Officers, and with my pastoral endorsement, agree that even though we are given the legal “go ahead” to offer services inside, we will continue offering Sunday services outdoors, while optimistically monitoring all new data as it becomes available.
However, we do feel comfortable with offering WEEKDAY services inside, as they have less attendance. Current protocols will remain in place. Namely, masks, social distancing, temperature checks, and questionnaire completion. Of course, we will still be offering all of our divine services via live-stream on our normal platforms.
As always, your church is here for you. Should you wish to contact me with questions, concerns, or for counseling or visitations, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
