A very HISTORIC EVENT will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2014.  His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Pope Francis will meet at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to commemorate the 50th Anniversary meeting of their revered predecessors, Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras and Pope Paul VI.  For detailed information and how to watch, please visit:

Presbytera Christie is organizing a trip to Sky High for St. Demetrios kids and their friends in Camarillo on Friday, April 11th from 4:30-6:30 pm. Meet at Sky High which is located at 166 N. Aviador Street, Camarillo, CA 93010. The price is $10 for two hours since it's a happy hour special. We will be entering as individuals rather than as a group since it ends up being half price. Feel free to bring a friend or two and make sure you have a parent permission waiver filled out at the front. We'll be entering as individuals rather than a group since it ends up being half price. The Cure for Disappointment

We have all experienced disappointment in life. Disappointment is bred from a variety of matters, from the most trivial to the most crucial. We have been disappointed by a friend or family member. The outcome of our favorite sports team in the World Series can add disappointment to our lives. We may disappoint ourselves by not properly preparing for a test at school or a project at work. We encounter disappointment, for the most part, because things just don’t go the way we want or expect them to. There is a cure for disappointment.

There are three important realizations to make about disappointments and understanding their influence in our lives. First, disappointment is inevitable. Everything and everyone, in every situation, at some point or another, will eventually provide us with a good dose of disappointment.
